Announcing a New Project: Quantum of Logic
The James Bond movies are no stranger to outlandish villainous plots.
Or are they?
In fairness, these films are rightly mocked for their reliance on space “lasers”, secret volcano lairs, and their penchant for megalomaniacal villains who place 007 in elaborate but easily escapable death traps. But despite the moon bases and submarine cars, the world of James Bond often draws inspiration from real-life threats – from the Space Race of the 1960s, the War on Drugs in the 1980s, and even modern-day cyber-warfare.
In Quantum of Logic, I examine every James Bond film and assess the feasibility of its plot. Which dastardly schemes would have succeeded? What real-life geopolitical events may have inspired the plot? And, most importantly, which gadgets turned out to be the most realistic?
Stay tuned each week in 2026 as I analyze the films. And the upcoming video game. And, hopefully, whoever will play the first James Bond in 20 years (assuming Amazon does their job).
